1. What We Do

iSend.ai is an email API platform that helps developers send emails through their own email providers (like AWS SES, SendGrid, etc.). We don't send emails ourselves - we just help you manage templates and connect to your email providers.

This privacy policy explains what data we collect and how we use it to provide our service.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up and use our platform:

  • Basic Info: Your name, email address, and company name
  • Billing: Payment information (processed by Dodo Payments, not stored by us)
  • Usage: How often you use our API, which templates you create, and your email sending patterns
  • Support: Any messages you send us for help

Email Templates & Data

Since we help you manage email templates:

  • Your Templates: The email templates you create in our dashboard
  • Recipient Lists: Email addresses you send to (we don't store these permanently)
  • Send Logs: Records of emails sent, delivery status, and bounces (stored for 12 months)
  • Unsubscribe Data: When people unsubscribe from your emails (stored to prevent future sends)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to:

  • Provide Our Service: Store your templates, process API requests, and connect to your email providers
  • Billing: Charge you for your usage and manage your subscription
  • Support: Help you when you have questions or issues
  • Improve: Make our platform better based on how people use it
  • Security: Detect and prevent abuse or fraud

4. Who We Share Data With

We don't sell your data. We only share it when necessary:

  • Your Email Providers: When you send emails, we pass the data to your connected providers (AWS SES, SendGrid, etc.)
  • Payment Processor: Dodo Payments handles your billing (they have their own privacy policy)
  • Our Hosting: AWS hosts our servers and stores our data
  • Law Enforcement: Only if required by law or court order

5. How We Protect Your Data

We take security seriously:

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted when stored and when transmitted
  • Access Control: Only authorized team members can access your data
  • Regular Updates: We keep our systems updated with security patches
  • Monitoring: We monitor for suspicious activity

6. How Long We Keep Data

We keep different types of data for different periods:

  • Account Data: While your account is active, plus 30 days after you delete it
  • Email Logs: 12 months (for delivery tracking and debugging)
  • Unsubscribe Lists: Forever (so we don't accidentally send to people who unsubscribed)
  • Billing Records: 7 years (for tax and accounting purposes)

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: See what data we have about you
  • Correct: Fix any incorrect information
  • Delete: Ask us to delete your account and data
  • Export: Get a copy of your data
  • Opt-out: Stop receiving marketing emails from us

To exercise these rights, email us at [email protected]

8. Third-Party Services We Use

We use these services to run our platform:

Essential Services

  • AWS: Hosts our servers and stores our data
  • Dodo Payments: Processes your payments (we don't see your card details)
  • Your Email Providers: AWS SES, SendGrid, Mailgun, etc. - these actually send your emails
  • Google Analytics: Helps us understand how people use our website

Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data needed for them to provide their service.

9. Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep You Logged In: So you don't have to enter your password every time
  • Remember Settings: Like your dashboard preferences
  • Analytics: Understand how people use our website

You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features might not work properly.

10. Children's Privacy

Our service is for businesses and developers, not children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we find out we have, we'll delete it immediately.

11. International Users

Our servers are in the US, but we serve customers worldwide. If you're in the EU, we follow GDPR requirements. If you're in California, we follow CCPA requirements.

12. Changes to This Policy

We might update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll:

  • Post the new version on this page
  • Email you if the changes are significant
  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top

If you keep using our service after changes, that means you accept the new policy.
